September was Suicide Prevention Month and presentations were given at the Kamsack, Cote and Keeseekoose high schools, along with one in the community.

An event held at the Keeseekoose Hall on October 18 was part of a national campaign in which similar events were held all across Canada.

The Kamsack Volunteer Fire Department (KVFD) was called out three times in a one-week span. In a release provided by Ken Thompson, acting fire chief of the KVFD, it was said the department responded to two out-of-town fires and one in town.

The Kamsack Players Drama Club has partnered with the Yorkton Paper Bag Players to bring two one-act, competition plays to the stage in Kamsack. The plays will be performed at the Kamsack Playhouse Theatre on October 27.

Kamsack's RCMP Detachment hosted a Town Hall meeting at the Ukrainian Catholic Hall on October 11. Residents and stakeholders from Kamsack and the surrounding area were encouraged to attend.

Kamsack is on the list of stops for entertainer Ian Sherwood during his We鈥檙e Only Human Tour which started on September 27 in Victoria, B.C. and will wrap up in Leader on November 10.

The Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes at Victoria School participate in monthly opportunities for families to come to the school for events and activities that they can enjoy together.
