MADGE LAKE - The Kamsack Sno Drifters Club has partnered with Border Mountain House to host the 2022 Madge Lake Classic Poker Derby on February 20, 2022.
Organizers expect to attract outdoor enthusiasts to Duck Mountain Provincial Park over the February long weekend – just one day prior to the provincially recognized statutory holiday, Family Day, on Monday, February 21.
Registration for the Sunday event will take place between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon at the Border Mountain House – located at the Recreation Hall at Duck Mountain Provincial Park. The registration fee will be $40 per person. Registrants will collect cards from route checkpoints throughout the day and prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place poker hands.
A limit of 130 supper tickets will be available for $25 each and must be purchased at the Border Mountain House prior to the event.
After a day of enjoying the beauty of the snow-covered woods, derby guests are invited to relax for a cocktail hour between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Border Mountain House. At 6 p.m., the brand new smokehouse in the mountains will be serving their award-winning ribs and all the fixings to derby participants. In addition to a live musical performance, the evening will include a silent auction with items including a Yoder smoker, a three-night stay at Madge Lake Condos, and more.
A $20 ticket at the door will enter guests in a draw for a chance to win a “cheer basket” Yeti cooler filled with beverages. A number of raffle prizes and proceeds from a 50/50 draw will also be up for grabs.
Those planning to attend the event should be aware that all current Saskatchewan COVID-19 restrictions will apply and proof of vaccination will be required to attend the supper.
