Kamsack Nursing Home showered with letters of love

A little love goes a long way
KAMSACK - At St. Paul's Elementary School in Yorkton, the kindergarten class wanted to do something special to celebrate Advent this year that would brighten some spirits and spread Christmas cheer. Kindergarten teacher, Sherrie Malinowski, chose to focus on seniors in and around the community.

Student, Ledger Nagy let his teacher know that his “Baba”, Karen Rubletz, works with seniors at the Kamsack Nursing Home. The class worked very hard to create 224 Christmas cards, 62 of those going to Kamsack Nursing Home and the others going to seniors in other facilities.

This caring project was meant to teach the meaning of Christmas to the young students by making someone else smile for the holidays. They used recycled Christmas cards and drew pictures and signed their names on each one.

“The cards brought many smiles to the residents,” reported Recreation Director, Karen Rubletz. “On behalf of everyone at the Kamsack Nursing Home, I wish to thank my grandson, Ledger Nagy, his kindergarten classmates, and Mrs. Malinowski of St. Paul’s Catholic School in Yorkton for their thoughtful gesture that was greatly appreciated by the residents.”
