The final game of Hockey Day in Saskatchewan on Jan. 19 saw the U18 Canora Cobras meet the visiting Whitewood Elks at the Canora Civic Centre, with Whitewood victorious by 4-2.

A good turnout was experienced as Canora and area believers shared lunch and prayer at St Andrew鈥檚 United Church, Parkland Christian Centre, St Joseph鈥檚 R.C. Church, St. Peter and Paul U.C. Church and Gateway Community Church from Jan. 20-24.

A non-denominational church service was held at the Canora Sylvia Fedoruk Curling Rink on the final day of Hockey Day in Saskatchewan.

The Preeceville Pats U11 and U13 teams, made up of players from both Preeceville and Canora, won games over Kamsack and Churchbridge respectively during Canora鈥檚 Hockey Day in Saskatchewan on Jan. 19.

The U13 Parkland Predators provincial team will begin the first round provincial series on Friday Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in Kamsack versus the Wynyard Monarchs.

The Battle of the Blades skating competition featured four teams, each made up of a figure skater and a hockey player, all part of Hockey Day in Saskatchewan.

The U7 game pitted the host Canora Cobras against a familiar rival, the Norquay North Starts.

Former Edmonton Oiler Marty McSorley shared stories from his NHL career, as well as what it took just to get there.

The U9 Canora Black Cobras were victorious, while the Cobras White team went down to defeat.
