During the week of November 16-20, Parkland College joined educational institutions from across Canada and more than 100 other countries in celebrating the 12th annual International Education Week (IEW).

About 1,800 SaskPower customers in Canora and the surrounding area were plunged into the darkness the evening of November 18 when a power outage was caused by a tree falling on a power line, said Jonathan Tremblay, a spokesman for SaskPower.

More than a month without a leisure services director, Canora town council agreed during the November 17 meeting to continue the advertising process. Six applications came in as result of the first round of advertising.

Very impressed by Canora鈥檚 medical facilities, Dr. Hamed Afshari is the newest addition to the community鈥檚 primary health care team. He is also one of Canada鈥檚 newest citizens, taking his oath about two months ago in Vancouver.
