CANORA - The Canora/Kamsack Flyers left no doubt who was the better team on Jan. 18 at the Canora Civic Centre, defeating the Melville Millionaires 14-0.
Flyers Coach Jared Ruff said the team played well, and enjoyed the game and the atmosphere surrounding Hockey Day in Saskatchewan.
“The kids found the game fun and enjoyed the atmosphere with the extra media and busyness of the rink.”
Bryden Lies of Kamsack led the scoring parade with four goals. Angel Sliva of Canora had two more, and was the top Flyers playmaker with four assists. Paysen Erhardt and Mason Bryant, each of Kamsack, had a pair of goals apiece. Single markers came from Kenzee Kopelchuk and Priah Wolkowski of Canora, and Morgan Lawless and Brodie Hunter of Kamsack
Ruff said the Flyers have had a good season so far, sitting near the top of their league standings.
“We are a new combined team of Canora and Kamsack players that have come together as a team really well both on and off the ice, and made new relationships through hockey.”
Team members are: Houston Keshane, Flynn Ruf, Brodie Hunter, Morgan Lawless, Paysen Erhardt, Mason Bryant, Anna Reilkoff, Jade Sas and Bryden Leis of Kamsack; and Angel Sliva, Priah Wolkowski, Courtlyn Heshka and Kenzee Kopelchuk of Canora.
