Canola: A Story of Canadian Innovation, is a new travelling exhibit from the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum.

This interactive exhibit presents the Canadian story of ingenuity behind this healthy and versatile crop, details a WDM release.

Canola: A Story of Canadian Innovation explores the history and development of canola, its uses in industries from food processing to transportation, and its place on Canadian tables. The exhibit also opens a window into the potential future of canola. Visitors will learn about canola and the current research 小蓝视频 conducted to improve its varieties and yield.

鈥淭he Canada Agriculture and Food Museum is proud to have partnered with experts and associations across the country to showcase this crop and highlight Canadian ingenuity. Canola is a perfect example of the scientific research, technological advancements, precision farming, entrepreneurial leadership and social questions behind contemporary agriculture. It is a story that needed to be shared during Canada鈥檚 150th and canola鈥檚 50th anniversary,鈥 said Kerry-Leigh Burchill, Director General, Canada Agriculture and Food Museum in the release.

Saskatchewan and Manitoba researchers Keith Downey and Baldur Stefansson, were key players in the development of canola. Today, Saskatchewan is a leading grower of canola in Canada.

Canola: A Story of Canadian Innovation will be at the WDM Yorkton until July 8, 2018 and will then travel to WDM locations in Moose Jaw, North Battleford and Saskatoon.
