The Saskatoon Stars captured the Fedoruk Cup with a 6-1 victory in the third and deciding game of the Sask Female Under-18 AAA league final over Battleford. The road teams won all three games of the series.
Kolbee Ashe and Halle Duchene both scored a pair of goals, with singles added by Sadie Green and Mikayla Broadfoot for the Stars in the victory. At the same time, goaltender Tarynn Sutter made 17 saves on 18 shots in the Saskatoon net.
The Stars will now host the Esso Western Regional best-of-three championship versus the Eastman Selects from Manitoba.
Game one will be Friday, April 4, at 8:15 p.m. at Merlis Belsher Place. Game two is set for Saturday, April 5th, at 8:15 p.m., and if a game three is required, it will be played on Sunday, April 6th, at 5:30 p.m.
