In their first pre-season game, the Saskatchewan Roughriders secured a solid 25-12 victory against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

This game marked several significant firsts, including Corey Mace's debut behind the Rider bench after coming over from the Toronto Argonauts in the off-season. Additionally, it was Trevor Harris' first time back on the field at Mosaic Stadium following season-ending knee injury over ten months ago.

Coach Mace expressed satisfaction with the team's performance but emphasized the need to address the issue of penalties. Mace said that he thought Trevor Harris played well and was very efficient with the football in his one-quarter of play. The Roughrider offence looked good all afternoon with touchdowns from Frankie Hickson and Ajou Ajou. The Rider defence also came through, with five sacks and two interceptions.

After a day off Tuesday, training camp will resume in Saskatoon again Wednesday before the team travels to Edmonton to conclude the pre-season on Saturday.
