The 2025 Baseball Canada men’s national championship is coming to Regina August 20-24, 2025.
It's Baseball Canada’s highest level of national championship and features 10 teams representing each province in Canada. A total of 26 games will be hosted at Currie Field and Optimist Park. The opening ceremonies and a home run derby will kick off the five-day event on Wednesday evening culminating with the gold medal game on Sunday afternoon.
“We are excited to be hosting this championship in Regina. Regina has the reputation of hosting first-class events and we are committed to continuing those efforts. Fans will be treated to some outstanding baseball and a fun and enjoyable experience. I encourage the community to get behind this event and help us make it the best ever," Regina host committee chairperson, Mark Bracken said in a statement.
The men’s national championship began in 1969 with the first ever event hosted in Halifax, NS. The event has only been hosted five times in Saskatchewan over the past 54 years and not in the past 25 years. The Regina Trappers have represented Saskatchewan at the national championships the past two years capturing the silver medal each time.
“The calibre of play at this championship will be outstanding. Teams will be comprised of players who have played collegiate baseball with a good percentage of the rosters comprised of former MLB drafted and recent independent pro league players. As the host team in 2025, we look forward to once again fielding a very competitive team with the goal of playing for gold on Sunday,” Nolan Dezotell Regina Trappers coach said in a statement.
