Eight Saskatchewan university athletes named to 2025 U Sports East-West Bowl roster

The 2025 East-West Bowl will be held at the University of Waterloo on Saturday, May 10.

The game will feature the top 106 Canadian university football players eligible for the 2026 CFL Draft as they look to showcase their skills to coaches, general managers, and personnel from the Canadian Football League.

Eight players from Saskatchewan universities were named to Team West.

University of Regina Rams:

Offensive lineman Riley Schick.

After playing four seasons with the Regina Thunder, the Lumsden, SK native joined the University of Regina. In his time with the Thunder, the six-foot-one, 300-pound lineman Schick was a three-time Prairie Football Conference all-star and was named a CJFL All-Canadian in both 2022 and 2023.

In addition to playing with the Thunder, Schick was invited to training camp with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and competed on the practice roster in both 2022 and 2023.

Growing up, Schick played nine-man football, helping his hometown Devils win provincial championships in all three seasons, the 2A title in 2016 and 3A titles in both 2017 and 2018.

Offensive lineman Ethan Graham.

Graham, a Sheldon-Williams Collegiate graduate, joined the Rams' offensive line in 2022. At six-foot-seven and 317 pounds, Graham’s physicality has been on full display on the left side of Regina's offensive line.

In 2023, Graham dressed in all eight regular season games, starting the last two. He was also the second offensive lineman in program history to catch a pass -- a touchdown reception from Brayden Wagg in the team's Week 4 game at Manitoba.

Linebacker Colin McKeller.

McKeller joined the Rams after the football program at Simon Fraser was discontinued.

The six-foot-one, 225-pound Vancouver native has suited up for 18 career games with the Rams. In 2024, he recorded 57 tackles, three sacks, and one interception.

Defensive back Carson Sombach.

Sombach, a five-foot-11, 195-pound Regina native, played all eight Canada West games in 2024 for the Rams, starting at safety. He finished the campaign with 16 solo tackles and 12 assisted tackles. Plus, he scooped up his first career fumble recovery on a punt return in Week 2.

He is a two-time Academic All-Canadian in 2021 and 2022.

Before joining the Rams, Sombach played for Team Saskatchewan in 2017 and 2018, winning a Football Canada Cup championship in his final year with the program.

University of Saskatchewan Huskies:

Quarterback Anton Amundrud.

The six-foot-three, 215-pound QB is entering this season as the Huskies' number one pivot. Amundrud took over the starter's role following the graduation of his new offensive coordinator, Mason Nyhus.

In 2024, the Lloydminster native completed 69 percent of his passes for 2,691 yards with 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Since taking over as the starter, Amundrud has started in 31 games and thrown for 5,467 yards with 29 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.

Offensive Lineman Jack Warrack.

The six-foot-five, 285-pound lineman was highly recruited out of high school in Strathmore, Alberta. In 2022, he was named the Strathmore High Male Athlete of the Year.

In the same year, Warrack joined the Huskies and force his way into the lineup. His impact was immediate and he was named the Canada West Rookie of the Year prior to the 2022 Hardy Cup.

Defensive lineman Charlie Parks

Parks, a graduate from Sheldon-Williams Collegiate in Regina, has been with the Huskies since 2022.

At six-foot-three, 241 pounds, Parks has been a force within the Huskies' defence. Despite 小蓝视频 limited to just four games in 2024, Parks still managed to make five tackles and record two sacks. Since joining the University of Saskatchewan, Parks has played in 11 games making 20 tackles, nine tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks.

Defensive lineman Nathan Jule.

2024 has been a tough year for the Saskatoon native. He missed the entire season due to injury after making his presence felt in 2022 and 2023 with the Huskies.

The six-foot-two, 225-pound linebacker has played in 22 games with Saskatchewan. In those games, he made 27 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, six sacks and one interception.

In addition to the eight athletes participating, University of Saskatchewan’s assistant head coach and passing game coordinator, Mason Nyhus, will be Team West’s offensive Coordinator. While Regina Rams linebackers coach Derek Larmer will hold the same title with Team West.
