MOOSE JAW — Two new residents will be joining city hall’s public art committee after two other members tendered their resignations recently after deciding to make changes to their careers.

During its Jan. 27 regular meeting, city council unanimously accepted the resignations of Jennifer Warren, with the Centre for Arts and Culture (CAC), and Jacki L’Heureux-Mason, with Tourism Moose Jaw (TMJ), from the committee effective Dec. 31, 2024.

In their place, council appointed Janice Bowley, CAC’s new front-of-house manager, and Donna Fritzke, TMJ’s new executive director, for terms of office commencing Jan. 27 and concluding on Dec. 31.

After learning about the resignations of Warren and L’Heureux-Mason last month, city hall contacted the two organizations and asked them to provide recommendations for new reps, a council report said.

“The confirmation of these appointments by city council is essential to ensure the committee continues to operate effectively,” the document stated. “The new representatives will play a crucial role in the public art committee’s ongoing efforts to support and enhance public art in the community.”

The next regular council meeting is Monday, Feb. 10.
