MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM -- The Peacock Tornadoes and Swift Current Colts will be playing their 小蓝视频 Rural Football League consolation final an hour earlier than usual this Saturday afternoon.
The contest will now take place at 12 p.m. at Gutheridge Field as opposed to 1 p.m., as league organizers look to accommodate other games taking place.
Swift Current advanced to the consolation final with a 39-12 win over Estevan last Saturday, with Peacock receiving a bye to the final.
The Tornadoes finished 2-4 in the regular season, including a 21-0 win over the Colts back on Sept. 14. Swift Current was 1-5.
The SRFL Final between the first-place and unbeaten Balgonie Greenall Griffins (6-0) and the third-place Central Cyclones (4-2) also takes place Saturday, with kick off at 2:30 p.m. from Leibel Field in Regina.
Balgonie advanced to the title game with a narrow 23-19 win over Yorkton last weekend, while Central downed Weyburn 21-7 in their semifinal.
Balgonie defeated Central 48-21 in their lone meeting of the season on Sept. 28.
The winner of the SRFL Final will advance to the Saskatchewan High Schools Association provincial semifinal next weekend against the winner of the Saskatoon 5A league championship between Bishop Mahoney and Aden Bowman. That contest takes place at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Regina Johnson booked their spot in the semis with a 44-3 win over Thom in the Regina Intercollegiate Football League final on Thursday.
Johnson will now face the winner of the North Saskatchewan League final between Prince Albert Carlton and Martinsville, with that game taking place at 1 p.m. at Max Clunie Field in Prince Albert.
