Update: Warrant issued in Regina's third homicide of the year

The Regina Police Service Is requesting assistance from the public in locating 聽the suspect wanted聽for a homicide聽which occurred on The 1900 block of McIntyre Street.

REGINA - Update: A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of 29-year-old Skyler Ochuschayoo of Regina.

The Regina Police Service Is requesting assistance from the public in locating  the suspect wanted for a homicide which occurred on The 1900 block of McIntyre Street.

Police and EMS were dispatched to a call for service for a 25-year-old male who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds shortly after 10:15 p.m. on June 29. Despite attempts at life-saving measures by police and EMS the male was deceased. Officers secured the immediate area and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification units, as well as the Coroner.

 As a result of investigation into this incident, Ochuschayoo is facing charges of:

  • first degree murder;
  • unlawfully at large; and
  • possess firearm/ammunition contrary to prohibition order.

Attempts to locate Skyler Ochuschayoo have not been successful.

The Regina Police Service, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, has confirmed the June 29 death of an adult male on the 1900 block of McIntyre Street is deemed a homicide.

Police and EMS were dispatched to a call for service for an adult male who had sustained apparent gunshot wounds shortly after 10:15 p.m. on June 29. Despite attempts at life-saving measures by police and EMS the adult male was deceased.

Officers secured the immediate area and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification units, as well as the Coroner.

Next-of-kin have since been notified. The victim is a 25-year-old Regina male, whose name police are not releasing at this time.

This incident remains under investigation. Police are asking that anyone with information that can assist this investigation to contact the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
