REGINA - Average retail gasoline prices in Regina have not moved in the past week, averaging 156.97 cents/litre yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 82 gas outlets in Regina.

This compares with the national average that has increased 1.6 cents/litre in the last week to 156.24 cents/litre, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Including the change in gas prices in Regina during the past week, prices yesterday were 18.5 cents/litre higher than the same day one year ago and are 6.6 cents/litre higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 1.3 cents/litre during the last month and stands 8.4 cents/litre higher than this day one year ago.

"Gas prices in Canada saw a slight increase over the past week, driven in part by rising prices on the West Coast, where refinery maintenance and outages in the U.S. have had a ripple effect on fuel costs in neighboring regions," said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy. "While most of Canada has seen only minor fluctuations, parts of British Columbia and other western provinces have experienced more noticeable increases— a trend that should slow in the coming days. However, with refinery maintenance season ramping up and the transition to summer gasoline blends underway, prices in many regions are likely to trend higher in the weeks ahead. Meanwhile, oil prices remain subdued in the low $70s as President Trump works on a potential peace deal between Russia and Ukraine — an event that, if realized, could have significant implications for global oil markets and fuel prices in the months ahead."
