REGINA - One person is in shock after both they and their friends were approached by multiple males on the street who were 小蓝视频 racist towards them and later threatened to shoot the group.

The person, who asked for their identity to remain anonymous, recalled the events of the incident, which took place on Dec. 23, 2024.

"I had a fever, so I wanted to take medicine, but there was nothing [that I could take] and no food inside our house. So we [the person and their friends] went to the nearest 7-Eleven to get some food. So, when we were coming back [from the store], we were using the Victoria Avenue bar route. We were in front of [a] Italian deli. Then we saw a car just passing by us."

The person’s friend noticed the multiple males inside the vehicle staring at them. The vehicle proceeded to make a U-turn, stopping beside the person and their friends.

The male passenger in the vehicle asked the group, "Do you guys have any drugs?" The person and their friends told the male from the vehicle they didn’t. When they said no, the male passenger then started to offer drugs to the group. Unsure of what the individual was holding, the group declined the offer.

That’s when the males from the vehicle started calling the person and his friend's names because they believed they were all Indian. They also told them "to go back to your country." The person told the males he was not, in fact, Indian, but the males continued taunting the group.

After calling them names, the males in the car kept laughing and drove off. The person remembers thinking, "I don’t know what just happened [so] let’s just go home."

Hoping to return home without any further issues, the group headed back. While they were about to cross the road, the vehicle returned and blocked the group's path. The males inside the vehicle started calling them names again.

After trying to avoid their taunts, the person repeated again to the people in the car that they were not Indian. The person said the male passenger who originally offered the group the drugs proceeded to throw a coffee cup at them, which got all over their body. At that moment, the person remembers their mind going blank.

"I was like what [should I be feel[ing] [in] that moment. Should I feel angry and start cussing, too? Should I feel sad? Should I start crying or anything?"

Unsure of what was happening, the person’s friends then recalled seeing something from the males inside the car. The person’s friends thought it could have been a gun. Once the group saw what could have been a weapon, the males in the vehicle started threatening the group, telling them, "we’re gonna shoot you."

The group started walking away from the vehicle and managed to get home. The person’s friends were furious after what happened, so the person decided to call 911.

Two police officers showed up at the house later, getting a statement from the person and their friends.

While it’s unclear if the incident was targeted or not, the person believes the people in the car might have thought they were homeless based on the jackets they were wearing, leading to them offering drugs.

The person also feels whether they took any action or stayed silent, the same outcome would have likely happened.

Even though no one was injured in the incident, it did take a toll on the group. The person was "worried they might [of] be[en] a gang." They told themselves, "I should be careful the next two days, like while I was going to my job and stuff. [So] I was kind of 小蓝视频 careful on my way like while [I was going] on[to] my job [or] while coming back [from my job] like I was looking here and they're [to make sure no one was following me]."

Additionally, the person’s friend, who they described as a joyful person, didn’t sleep throughout the night after the incident and even cried. The person also didn’t speak for an extended period, as they were trying to grasp the situation.

Seeing their friend this way, the person felt bad. They added "the way [my friend] broke down [was hard to see.]"

The person understands the area they were in isn’t known as the safest, as people have told them to avoid certain areas around the neighbourhood.

As a week has passed since the incident, the person said they and their friends are starting to move on but do want justice to be served for what happened to them. The group also hopes this information will make others more cautious.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Regina Police Service at (306)-777-6500.
