Uncle Terry passed away Friday, September 13, 2013 at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon. He will be remembered with much love and great respect by his sister Eileen (Bob) Kasnick; brother-in-law Wray Jordan; former sister-in-law and close friend to Terry and Betsy, Marg Floren; and many nieces and nephews in the Cullen, Joyal, Jordan and Kasnick families. Uncle Terry was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth (Betsy) in 1999 and stepson Charles Carruthers in 1988; brothers John and Patrick; sisters Margaret, Bridget and Theresa. Uncle Terry was born in Weyburn on September 27, 1925. Soon after completing high school in 1943, he joined the Royal Canadian Navy and served on the H.C.M.S York. After World War II ended, Uncle Terry, like many young men of his generation, was demobilized from active military service. He returned to Weyburn and began what would become a 45 year career with the Province of Saskatchewan in the accounting and administrative offices of the Saskatchewan Hospital Weyburn. Uncle Terry and Aunt Betsy married in 1959. Upon their retirement, Uncle Terry and Aunt Betsy continued to reside in Weyburn, but enjoyed much more time at the lake and trips to the west coast to visit Charles and other family members. After Aunt Betsy's passing, he moved to Vancouver Island, returning to Saskatchewan and Saskatoon in 2004 where he resided until the time of his passing. The family would like to express sincere thanks to Myrna and staff at Keedwell Assisted Living for their compassionate and dedicated care of Uncle Terry over the past four years. A Time of Remembrance in his honour was held Friday, September 20 at 4:00 PM at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon. Interment to take place in Weyburn.
