He then went on to Pangman to complete his Grade 12. After finishing high school he worked up North in Cameron Hills area for Highland Exploration Limited for a few months. Then he worked for the Simpson Sears in Regina for three years. In the winter of 1970 Norman worked in British Columbia. From 1970 to 1972 he attended Saskatchewan Technical Institute in Moose Jaw receiving a diploma of Applied Arts in Accounting. Norman was married on August 5, 1972 in Froude at the United Church. He then worked as an accountant for Burroughs, Weber, Bowman Gross & Downs in Swift Current. He returned to take over the family farm in October 1973 and farmed and ranched with his son James until passing. Norman loved to read and study the Bible. He enjoyed woodworking and renovating the house. He loved to go with Marion to her craft shows and helped design and set up her displays. Norman especially loved taking his grandchildren and other children for rides on the quad or in the tractor. While his children were younger he enjoyed coaching hockey and running a boys club in Pangman. Norman was very involved in church. He served on the church board in various capacities and also helped with preaching and teaching. He loved Jesus and was a true servant of God in all he did. He was also very involved in Trossachs Gospel Camp. He spent much of his spring and summer down at camp helping in every way possible. He served on the camp board for many years. He got great joy from watching the kids come to camp each year. It gave him great pleasure to see his grandchildren start attending camp too!! Norman loved the Lord. He lived his life to serve God and looked forward to the day when he could be with Jesus. We have great comfort knowing he is with his saviour and that one day we will be with him again.
