Louis Kot, late of Weyburn, passed away October 6, 2013, at the age of 91 years. Louis was predeceased by his parents, George and Marianna Kot; wife Bridgette Kot; sisters and brothers, Annie, Mary, Rose, John, Gregory and Phillip; sisters-in-law, Corrine Kot, Adella Kot; brothers-in-law, John McGough, John Vogel, John Schmidt and John Bauer; nephews, George Kot and James McGough. Louis is survived by his stepdaughter, Elizabeth (David) Baggaley, Winnipeg, MB; brothers and sisters; Frank Kot, Weyburn, Caroline Bauer, Leader, Joe Kot, Weyburn, Veronica (Russell) Soltys, Regina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Louis was born on January 9, 1922. He farmed all his life in the McTaggart and Colfax area. Louis was an active member in the church. When the McTaggart church closed in the late 1960's he started attending St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church in Weyburn. Louis was a member of the church choir for many years. Louis travelled to many places including the west coast of Canada and Ireland. He especially enjoyed travelling by car as it allowed him to enjoy his surrounding scenery. Prayers for Louis were held Wednesday, October 9, at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn. A Mass of Christian Burial for Louis was held on Thursday, October 10 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Vincent Church, with Father Gerry Bauche, celebrant. Interment followed at McTaggart Cemetery. For family and friends so wishing, donations in memory of Louis may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Weyburn (848-0333, 1-888-848-0333).
