Keith Eichel

Keith Eichel, late of Weyburn, passed away October 18, 2013, at the age of 72 years. Keith was predeceased by his parents, Janet and Ronald; sister in infancy Ruth Eichel; sisters: Mae Ross and Donna MacLeod. Keith is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Eichel, Weyburn; son, Ronald (Leanne) Eichel, granddaughters Ava and Patreec, all of Swift Current; daughter Rhonda Eichel (Mike Kot), Saskatoon; brother, Aubrey (Debbie) Eichel, Victoria, BC; several in-laws along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Sharing knowledge was Keith's lifelong passion. He pursued this by teaching in the classroom, tutoring at every opportunity even on family vacations. Keith always enjoyed a challenge whether it involved a Dell crossword puzzle or a complex math problem he would persevere until he resolved it. A spirited game of Risk or Monopoly at Christmas-time was an annual tradition. Sports, including hockey, baseball, football, golfing and fishing, played a large role in Keith's life from a very young age. If Keith wasn't playing, he was officiating. Often our family summer vacations were to destinations hosting duplicate bridge tournaments. Keith was very proud for obtaining his Silver Life Master's. Keith volunteered with a diverse group of organizations (Heart & Stroke Foundation, Kidney Foundation, Boy Scouts, church groups, Royal Canadian Legion and any other special event 小蓝视频 held in the community). In recent years, Keith returned to his home Legion Branch #114, Indian Head. Every Sunday you would find Keith in the choir loft practicing his faith and singing his heart out. A service of remembrance for Keith was held on Wednesday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church, Weyburn with Rev. M. Barnabas, officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Honorary pallbearers were Warren Betker, Don Ehman, Al York, Trent McCallum, Carl Von Hagen and Art Wallace. For family and friends so wishing, donations in memory of Keith may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 279 3rd Ave. N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic, 4101 Dewdney Ave, Regina, SK S4T 7T1.
