Heather Glass, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 6, 2016 at the age of 70 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Derek and Jeanne Lockyer and her son, Will Glass. Heather was born March 1, 1946 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, England to Derek and Jeanne. She lived on Hayling Island just off Portsmouth where she attended the public school. Later Heather would go to grammar school in Portsmouth. She immigrated to Canada on her own 50 years ago this year, at the age of 20. She came first to Winnipeg, MB and eventually to Weyburn. Later Heather鈥檚 parents followed suit and came to Canada as well. On July 31, 1979, Heather married Brian Glass and they spent their life together in Weyburn raising two children. Heather worked for the Chamber of Commerce, Stinson鈥檚 Law office, as a secretary to the Weyburn Red Wings up to when they won the Centennial Cup, Mryglod Properties and lastly for Don鈥檚 Plumbing & Heating, from which she eventually retired. Heather and Brian lived on 小蓝视频 Hill for a few years. In 1983 they purchased a house on Alexandra Street and have lived there since. Heather was very active in the community of Weyburn. She helped with the United Way from the first year until its 25th year at which point she retired. Heather was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a Legion Dart Club member and tournament organizer as well as Legion Membership Chairperson. She loved to work crossword puzzles and play games on her computer. Heather also enjoyed sewing, travelling, and collecting unicorns and new pieces for her 鈥淐hristmas Village.鈥 Some of her most memorable trips were to Bushmills, Northern Ireland, Hayling Island, Portugal, Spain, France, Isle of Wight, Scotland, Belguim, Germany, Qatar, Dubai, Dominican Republic and Las Vegas. For over 30 years Heather and Brian travelled extensively for dart tournaments to such places as Nova Scotia, Wyoming, Minot and all over Saskatchewan. Heather was a very genuine, caring person who was willing to help everybody. She was very 鈥淟egion minded鈥 and will be missed by all. Heather will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Brian Glass of Weyburn; daughter, Michelle (Mike) Campmans and their children, Anna, Quinn and Liam; brothers, Keith (Barbara) Lockyer and Nigel (Sylvia) Dobson both of England; extended family, Alisha and Troy Bell and their daughters, Nevaeh and Lexi and Murray and Marg Spearman and their family; their close knit 鈥淟egion Family and Friends鈥 as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends in Canada, England and Northern Ireland. Visitation was held on Thursday, June 9, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. The Funeral Service took place on Friday, June 10, at 2:00 p.m. from Fletcher Funeral Chapel with Reverend John Ferrier officiating. Interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Active Pallbearers were Murray Spearman, Trent Jensen, Al Potyra, Verdi Melquist, Rick Moser and Garry Myers. Honourary Pallbearers were Bill Ruckaber and Darcy Francis.
