On Sunday, April 27, 2014, Heather Fleck passed away at the Pasqua Hospital at the age of 76. Heather was predeceased by her husband, Frank Fleck Jr.; her parents Bill and Margaret Chico and niece Linda Maurice. She is survived by her three sons Daryl (Belva) and their family: Dean (Rhea Leibel) and their children Mason and Remy, Bryan (Jari) and their children Marlie and Avery, Ian (Susan) and their children Ryann, Cohen and Drew; Greg (Susan) and their family: Sarah (Scott) Malo and their children Sadie, Clarke and Ellie, Angela (Eric) Page and their daughter Emma, Nathan (Julia) and their children Morgan and Edie; Neal; Sister Andrea (Peter) Maurice; and nephew Warren Maurice. Born in Yorkton on December 29, 1937, the family lived on a farm outside of Barvas. Her father pursued a teaching career and they subsequently lived in Lemberg, Atwater and Robsart. Heather took her Grade 11 and 12 in Regina at Central Collegiate. From there she went to Moose Jaw Teacher's College. Her first teaching position was in a farm school outside of Parkbeg. After this she furthered her education to get her Standard Teaching Certificate. Heather was an educator for 30 years, most of those spent in Lampman. It was in Lampman that she met Frank Fleck Jr. They were married July 4, 1963. Along with a new husband came his three sons whom she nurtured and loved unconditionally. Heather was an active member of the Lampman United Church and the UCW. She spent many summers at her cabin at Clear Lake where she made numerous friends. She also enjoyed travelling, especially her frequent trips to Las Vegas. Heather had many interests but her greatest love was family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud. Visitation for Heather was held from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30 at RD Family Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. A funeral service for Heather was held on Thursday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m. from the Grace United Church, Weyburn with Rev. M. Barnabas, officiating. Interment followed at Lampman Cemetery, Lampman. Pallbearers were Nathan Fleck, Dean Fleck, Bryan Fleck, Ian Fleck, Scott Malo, Robbie Fleck and Eric Page.
