It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Duane Nimegeers of Weyburn on January 13, 2016, at the age of 57 years. Duane was predeceased by his wife Jackie Nimegeers, parents Melvin and Eva Nimegeers; brother Marley Nimegeers. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Jocelyn Nimegeers; son Garrett Nimegeers; stepmother: Edith Viguie; sisters: Carol (Perry) Duncan and children Amanda (Kent) and Evan, Marilyn (Keith) Fradette and children Shane, Mitchel, and Sara, Valerie Hagen and children Shawn and Willem; brother: Lorne Nimegeers (Carol) and his children Kale and Shelby (Matt) and their son Matthew, and their daughter Harlee; father and mother-in-law: Olaf and Ruth Raaen; sisters-in-law: Theresa Nimegeers (Dale) and her children Pamela and Terrence (Meghan) and their son Gavin, Maureen (Rocky) Purves and their sons: Cole (Jody), Derek (Amanda); brother-in-law: Trevor (Karen) Raaen and his sons: Mason and Morgan; along with step-family, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Duane was born in Radville. A few years later, his family moved to Kisbey where they farmed. In 1968 they moved back to Radville to the family farm. During high school Duane worked for the Radville Co-op and shortly after graduating he began working for the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool. Duane married Jackie Raaen in 1984 and had two children, Jocelyn and Garrett. His career with the Wheat Pool spanned many years and communities, including Crane Valley, Sedley, Lake Alma and Pangman. The family moved to Weyburn and Duane worked for Parrish and Heimbecker, Limited (formerly WIT) for the past 11 years until his passing. Duane鈥檚 favorite pastimes were tinkering on his 1973 Challenger with his children and camping with his family. He took great pride in doing the best job he could at work; helping his customers in any way he could. He always had a positive attitude, a smile and kind word for everyone. He was known for his strong work ethic. Prayers were held on Wednesday, January 20, at 6:00 pm from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, January 21, at 10:30 am from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with Father Gerry Bauche and Father Anthony Pangan, celebrants. Lunch was held at the McKenna Hall, 317 3rd Street, Weyburn. Interment to be held at a later date. Jocelyn and Garrett and their family wish to thank everyone for their kindness during this difficult time. Thanks to Father Gerry Bauche for a beautiful funeral mass; to the mass servers, the choir, and to the Parish ladies for serving lunch.
