Dorothy Frank died peacefully on June 3, 2013 at the Radville Marian Centre at the age of 93. Dorothy was born at Cedoux to William and Florence [Barney] Webb on October 27, 1919. She was predeceased by her parents William and Florence, her first husband Scott Burns and her second husband Fritz Frank, her daughter Judith Horley and her son Grant, one brother Daniel, sisters Marjorie, Eileen and Kathleen. She leaves to celebrate her life her daughters: Helen [Murray] Brown of Gainesville Florida; Jean [Rose] Frank of Aliso Viejo, California; daughter-in-law Laurie Frank of Anglemont, BC; son-in-law Lyle Horley of Calgary, Alberta; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; brothers David Webb; Walter Webb; Ernest Webb and Thomas Webb; sisters, Jennie Nelson, May Dowell as well as numerous relatives. Dorothy grew up on the farm near Amulet and attended Egypt Valley School. She was the first born into a family of 11, six brothers and five sisters. Dorothy was a caring sister, making sure that her siblings were taken care of when their mother was busy helping with the farm chores. Dorothy worked for different families in the community before marrying Scott Burns in 1943 and they lived on the Burns family farm northwest of Ogema. In 1946 Scott died leaving Dorothy with two small children, Helen and Judith living on the farm. In 1947 Dorothy married Fritz Frank who had returned to the farm as manager for Dorothy. In 1948, Fritz and Dorothy spent the winter in Ogema and they eventually purchased the Massey Harris dealership from Ernest Crispin. This is where they spent many busy years raising four children and increasing the business so that it expanded into a multi dealership with an automobile franchise. They moved to Kelowna, BC in 1975 when Fritz suffered a stroke. Dorothy resided in Kelowna following the death of her second husband before moving to Kamloops to be close to her only son Grant and his wife Laurie. Dorothy moved back to Saskatchewan to stay in 2008 where she lived in Ogema until she moved to the Pangman Care Home. Dorothy was very active within the Ogema community: a life member of the Ogema Legion Branch # 67; a Rebekah, a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church as well as numerous other organizations. She was a very talented seamstress, knitter, and she enjoyed doing petti-point and embroidery. A private family service was held at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Ogema on Friday, June 7 with the Reverend Isabella Frank officiating. Interment took place on Saturday, June 8 at the Weyburn Memorial Gardens. A service of thanksgiving and celebration will be held in Ogema on Friday, July 7, at the Ogema Regional Park complex.
