Clifford Arnold Rederburg passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 29, 2013 at the Regina General Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Doris Rederburg; brothers, Alfred (Mary) and Howard; brothers-in-law, Norbert Spohn and Earl Richardson, stepson, Bruce Naylor and great niece-in-law, Marcia Wolfater. Cliff was born January 19, 1926 in Benson to Oscar and Doris Rederburg. The family moved to Griffin where Oscar was employed with the Weyburn Security Bank. They lived in Griffin until 1932 at which time the family moved to Estevan. Cliff attended Valley View School until 1933 when the family returned to Benson. He finished his formal schooling in Benson and then began farming. In 1945 Cliff and his brother, Alfred purchased their first land. Cliff graduated in 1955 from the School of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan. During the winter months Cliff worked for Simpson Sears in Regina. This is when he met Doris Melville, his future wife, at United Church Young People. On October 17, 1958 Cliff and Doris were married. They returned to Benson and took up residence on the Rederburg farm. Together they had and raised three children, Robert (1959), Donna (1961) and Penny (1965). In 1991 Clifford met Mary Lynn Naylor and in June of 1992 Cliff and Mary Lynn were married. They continued to live and farm on the Rederburg farm until 2009 when they moved to Weyburn. In 2011 Cliff sold his farm. He was very involved in his community, serving as RM Counsellor, School Trustee and on the local United Church Board. Cliff was also a lifelong supporter of the CCF-NDP. Clifford enjoyed Square Dancing in both Estevan and Weyburn. He especially enjoyed curling with friends and family. Cliff was also an active member of the Masons. He belonged to Kitchener Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Cliff and Lynn took many long walks around their home in Weyburn and spent many evenings playing scrabble together. They regularly attended Grace United Church. Cliff's children would like to thank the Weyburn Ambulance staff, doctors, nurses and staff at the Regina General Hospital and a special thanks to Stan, social worker. Thanks to the many kind words of comfort and care from family and friends, The family would also like to thank Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Reverend Mohandas Barnabas, Grace United Church staff and United Church Women for their kind support and assistance through this period. Cliff will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lynn of Weyburn; son, Robert (Sharlene) of Meota, and their children, Todd, Amy, Shawna (Mike) Wirz and daughter Kira; daughter, Donna of Saskatoon and her son, Aaron; daughter, Penny of Red Deer, AB; mother of his children, Doris (Gord) Dick; Lynn's children, Jay (Sandy) Naylor and children, Maia and Claire; Kent (Sharon) Naylor and children, Marli, Tandon, Kesha and Kael; Scott (Kerri) Naylor and children, Kyla and Jenna; daughter-in-law, Judy and children, John and Connor and sisters, Ada (Bernard) Clarkson of Stoughton, and Marion Spohn of Calgary, AB; sister-in-law, Florence Rederburg of Regina, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation was held on Friday, May 31 from 7:00 9:00 PM at Fletcher Funeral Chapel, Weyburn. A funeral Service was held on Saturday, June 1 at 2:00 PM from Grace United Church, Weyburn with Reverend Mohandas Barnabas officiating. Interment took place at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Donations in memory of Cliff may be made to Alzheimer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
