Charlie Becker passed away peacefully on July 29, 2012 at the High River Hospital, High River, AB at the age of 87 years. Charlie is survived by his loving wife Marie; sons Brad (Shelley), Garth, Kerry (Liesl), Graham (Tracy); step daughter Debbie (Rodney) Makelki; step son Wayne (Betty) Lund; step daughter-in-law Vivian Lund. Charlie is also survived by his grandchildren Heath, Vicki (their mother Pam Becker), Megan, Sarah; step grandchildren Greg, Dwayne, Dawn, Andy, Brad, Caley, Michael and Aaron; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Charlie's surviving siblings Fred (Esther), Frank (Zanna), Tillie Barrett, Jean Oshanek, Florence (Roy) Leflar and sister-in-law Mary Becker. Charlie was predeceased by his parents Jake and Dory; sister Lillian and brother-in-law Jack Turner; brother Floyd; brothers-in-law Bob Oshanek and Don Barrett; sisters-in-law Ora and Esther; daughter-in-law Barbara Becker; grandson Chris Becker and step son Marty Lund. Charlie was born in Radville and went to school at Freda Lake. He farmed at Radville where he married the mother of his sons Patricia Jensen in 1955. In 1986 Charlie moved to Calgary and married Marie Lund in 1989. In 2005 Charlie then made his home in High River, AB. Charlie was very involved in hockey and baseball (Charlie's Angels) in Radville. He loved hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He made friends where ever he went. The family would like to thank Dr. Powell and all of the staff at the High River Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness. A funeral service was held on Thursday, August 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highwood Memorial Centre in High River (128 - 5th Ave W.).
