WEYBURN - The 2023 Graduation for the Weyburn Comprehensive School will be held outdoors again this year, set for Saturday, June 10 at Darold Kot Field.
The day will begin with the punch reception at 9:30 a.m., organized by the WCS’s School Community Council at Darold Kot Field and the canteen, with the grad ceremonies to start at 10:30 a.m.
There will be chairs set up for the grads in front of the outdoor stage, and parents, family, friends and community members can bring their lawn chairs to watch the ceremonies.
The Grad Parade will take place at 2 p.m. through the downtown area, organized by the 2023 Student and Parent Committee.
The parade will line up at 1:30 p.m. at the fair grounds and at 2 will head east on Prairie Avenue, then will turn south on Third Street in front of the court house.
The parade heads downtown to Souris Avenue, and the route will go over to Second Street and go north to Bison Avenue to Government Road, and will go west on Coteau Avenue West to end up on the fair grounds at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena.
The Grand March and a short program will be at 6 p.m., with the doors open at 5:30 p.m.
After the guests leave, there will be the “Final Curtain” from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Grads and escorts will be encouraged to have photos with their classmates, and there will be a dance with pizza and refreshments for grads and their escorts only.
