The Editor,
I seriously thought about contacting the newspaper after the August 11 issue where co-editor Chad Saxon had his rant about parking on green space.Mr. Saxon brought forth valid concerns, but I do have a problem with some of the language he was using. In that particular article it was the use of bitch and A-holes, but since after reading his rant in the September 1 issue, I feel I must say something.I realize this is a little after the fact, but rather than sitting by and saying nothing I feel better late than never!
Maybe to this desensitized society bitch, A-hole, damn, WTF, freakin' (which is just a replacement for another word) are nothing, but then the inappropriate use of the Lord's name really set me off.As a local newspaper, I think you should be a little more considerate of all your readers and subscribers. The elderly, the young (my brother started reading a newspaper at age four), clergy, you name it, not all of us have potty mouths and we expect our local newspaper to keep it clean which was the message that Mr. Saxon had been trying to promote in his articles.Either dropping the adjectives or the use of a thesaurus might help Mr. Saxon find some more appropriate words for future pieces.
I ask that you please take this matter seriously and please use more appropriate language in future publications.
