Sympathy to Mel and Vivian Vail and other family and friends on the passing of Violet Margaret June (Vail) Meadows. She passed away in Regina on March 23 at the age of 88 years. She was the daughter of Herb and Grace Vail and the mother to Debbie (Phil) Short, Brenda (Loren) Grumbly, Terry (Carolynn) Meadows and Jeff (Roohi) Meadows, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Wawota welcomes a new business to our town. Fat Kat Diesel Service is owned by Colin Fatteicher and his headquarters are in the former Drumm's Garage on Main Street. Colin is the husband of Amaryah Porter.

Congratulations聽to Devin Stewart who has completed his level 3 journeyman electrical course.

Happy birthday聽to four young men in the community who recently celebrated birthdays.聽 They are Jeff Fisk, Cimarron Prince, Jake Lamoureaux and Philip Deale. At least three of them are anticipating their half century birthdays in the near future.

Welcome聽to Ramone Soloman, his wife Grace Carganuian and their son Russel. After spending three years as a chef at Kenosee Inn, Ramone is now employed at Moose Mountain Meats. They are residing in one of the apartments on Main Street.

Sympathy to the family and friends of Denis Lamontagne. Denis passed away on March 28 at home at the age of 82 years.聽Surviving are his wife, Norma (Jane), and family Paul (Lisa),Lea (Dennis) Kushner, Michele (Mike) Taillon and Rennee and their families. He was predeceased by a daughter, Marla. Denis was born in Wawota and spent his entire life here. He was well known in the area. Comments about him and his life were about his kindness, his sense of humour, his good nature, his zest for life and his musical talent. A funeral will be planned for a later date.
