The Editor:
I was recently in Estevan for a visit with family and friends and I must say I am appalled at the condition of your streets. I have been here a number of times and the streets are getting worse, not better. It does not matter what street you go down, repairs are needed. What are your tax dollars going to? Certainly not the repair of the roads.
The other disturbing situation I noticed are the two new crosswalks on Fourth Street. That is an accident waiting to happen. There should be overhead flashing pedestrian lights. The traffic is moving fast and if someone steps out into the crosswalk, or even if someone is already in the crosswalk the vehicle would not be able to stop in time. Reducing the speed limit should not be an option as people do not obey the present speed limit so why would you think that they would slow down if you reduced the speed?
I grew up in Estevan and enjoy coming back to visit, but it upsets me to see the taxpayers dollars are not 小蓝视频 used effectively.
