My name is Josh Lewis and I'm excited to join the Mercury as their newest sports reporter and look forward to the challenge of covering the wide world of sports in Estevan and the surrounding area.
I come to the city from a P.E.I. village named Crapaud, by way of Kindersley, where I spent the past two-plus years in my first full-time sports writing gig.
Saskatchewan was a shock in some ways - I learned the hard way to avoid metal coat racks in the winter - but it was also a welcome mat in that the people are laid-back and they have learned to battle adversity like no other.
As for me, it seems the powers that be decided to make me lousy on the ice, on the field and on the court in exchange for letting me watch sports for a living.
That said, I'm looking forward to throwing a few double raises at the Estevan Curling Club, shooting some triple-bogeys at Woodlawn and maybe squeezing in a little shinny and slow pitch action.
