The Editor,Here we go again. The Minister of Health along with his hacks and flacks on the Sun Country Health Board are cutting and slashing health care for seniors.First this inexperienced government cuts back on Chiropractic services and now I notice in the Sun Country Health Region press release that the region will no longer subsidize the services of a Podiatrist.Apparently it's not a required program under the health ministry. What will become the next, non-required program, hip replacement?Don't be to quick to rule out anything with this government. You have likely heard that this region had recently closed 10 to 15 long-term beds in Wawota. Is it a coincidence that all these cuts effect seniors? You attempt to call the CEO of the region, and one cannot even get someone to answer the switch board. let alone speak to the CEO.I called the Health Minister's office and that wasn't worth the cost of my long distance call.It wasn't that long ago when this present government was in opposition and constantly complaining about the lack of health care 小蓝视频 provided by the government of the day. How soon they forget. The 18th will be the nine year anniversary since I had my leg amputated, and to-date the health system has been unable to make me a properly fitted prosthesis - sure doesn't say much for the system. If only someone within the health ministry or the government would garner the intestinal fortitude to realize, hey, we could have additional money for actual health care and its front line providers if we would only downsize the, bloated bureaucracies, throughout the Ministry. The question for all of us to ponder - is this inexperienced government willing to provideknowledgeable, necessary, health care programs and services, or are they simply beholden to their bureaucrats?John LenEstevan, Sask.
