The Alida Recreation Board conducted their first-ever online Facebook auction on April 9-11.
Our community and the surrounding area were canvassed and we gratefully accepted a wide variety of items to put on the auction. Just over 80 lots were photographed and posted on our Facebook event for anyone to bid on. Bidding opened April 9 at 9 a.m. and April 11 at 9 p.m.
It was fun watching the bidding. Lot 1 – Alida shopping spree was offered as a draw with participants purchasing squares for $10. This draw was made Sunday with Brittany Dubuc СÀ¶ÊÓƵ the winner. After all the items were paid for and picked up on April 13, the Alida Recreation Board had raised over $12,000, including cash donations. Being the very first time trying this kind of fundraiser there were glitches along the way but that will help make another one even better. Â
Huge appreciation to our donors, bidders, and winners for making this event a success.
