The flower pots on Centre Street have now been sponsored by the following – The Village of Alida, Margaret Peet, Cannington СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Daryl Harrison, the Post Office (Linda Akins), Credit Union, T’s for Miles (Tristen Boutin), Alyshia Boettcher, Farm & Auto (Jenny), The Cowan Farms (Edel and Shelly).

I noticed that some of the pots have already been planted so before long the flowers will be in full bloom. Appreciation goes out to all who stepped up to put their names down, which in turn will soon beautify our town.

Now that a new month is upon us, there are many who are or will be making their summer weekend home at their campers which are in the Moose Creek Regional Park. There’s probably some parked at other parks in the area too that I don’t know about. That is a definite sure sign that summer is here.

Hopefully we’ll see some rain again soon. It is surprising how quickly that nice rain received at the end of May has now dried up and more moisture will soon be needed to keep everything growing as I noticed that some of the small seeds are now beginning to sprout. The rain showers do keep the green grass growing which will probably need mowing again soon, always something to do outside.

This is the last week to get your tickets for the Sports Day BBQ Package as it will be drawn sometime over this coming week. Good luck to all who bought tickets and supported the Alida Rec. Board. Your continued support is always appreciated.

Birthday greetings for the second week in June goes out to – Lynette Peet, Roy Farr, Trudy Boettcher, Stella Campbell, Eleanor Harrison, Normand Desautels and Richard Barber. Hope you have a good day on your special day and many more to come.

We are now into June – the last busy month for the students and staff as graduations will soon be happening in some form or other. Only time will tell what their final plans will be – just remember to follow the COVID restrictions and keep safe. We are moving forward and hope to keep going in this direction – we will beat this pandemic.
