The April 12 sale of Crown petroleum and natural gas dispositions raised a total of just over $3 million, with the vast majority of that coming from the Weyburn-Estevan area.
The sale totalled $3,072,209, which is an average of $352.11 per hectare. There were 80 leases posted for the sale covering 16,187.524 hectares, and 44 were sold, covering 8,725 ha.
In the Weyburn-Estevan area, there 36 leases posted and 29 were sold, bringing in a total of $2,642,429, or an average of $516.58 per hectare.
The top purchaser of acreage in the area, and in the province, was Stomp Energy Ltd., who spent $1,133,308 to buy two lease parcels.
The top price paid for a single lease in the southeast, and in the province, was $1,104,666, paid by Stomp Energy for a 259-ha parcel located five kilometres east of the Torquay Main Torquay Oil Pool, 30 km west of Estevan.
This was the highest dollar per hectare in the offering at $4,265 per ha.
Gas prone areas of the province attracted bonus bids of $5,000 for 259 hectares, an average of $19.31 per ha.
