Red Wings' president, Ryan Williams, thanked the players, coaches, staff and countless volunteers for another great season. "We had our ups and downs this season, but this was one of the hardest working teams I've had the pleasure of working with," Williams said.

Coach Dwight McMillan, in his 37th year with the team, echoed Williams remarks and added that, "The players should be proud of themselves and the people of Weyburn who support the Wings are an important part of keeping hockey alive and well in the city."

"I'm proud of the way these young players have developed and matured over the past year and I will miss those graduating this year," Co-Coach Darcy Pindus told the gathering.

Hockey Operations Manager, Ron Rumball, sang the praise of the people and businesses of Weyburn. "Selfless people make this team possible and it's our volunteers who help keep the Red Wing wheel attached to our hockey, operations game in and out, throughout the years."

"While TJ Wees, Brock Appleyard, Rhys Thomas, Tanner McCall, Lucas Ulmer, Riley Hengen, Brentt Becker and Scott Kirkham have finished their Jr. 'A' Hockey careers as Weyburn Red Wings, they will always remain part of the Red Wings' family and will have a place in the hearts of billet families and fans for many years to come," Rumball added.

The annual sweater auction performed by Winston Bailey of Lackey Real Estate helped fetch over $11,000 from well-wishers, businesses and hockey families. The money will help fund next year's operations.
