The Weyburn Petro Bakken Wings began their season with an exhibition tournament September 24 and 25 in Whitewood. They had good success during the weekend winning all 3 games by commanding scores.

The Weyburn Petro Bakken Wings began their season with an exhibition tournament September 24 and 25 in Whitewood. They had good success during the weekend winning all 3 games by commanding scores. The coaching staff was able to finalize their roster for the upcoming season.

The Wings hosted Estevan Bruins on September 29 and skated away with a 4 to2 win. The Wings trailed Estevan 2 to 0 at the midpoint of the second period before rallying for 4 unanswered goals.

Scoring Weyburn's first goal was Jacob Eger assisted by Lyndon Lumb and Kendall Oliver. Second goal was scored by Cole Sjostrand with the assist going to Brayden Leslie. Third goal came from Lyndon Lumb with the assists going to Kendall Oliver and Donovan Lumb. The last goal was scored by Tucker Neuberger assisted by Braden Mellon. Billy Cuthbert picked up the win in net.

The Wings will have a good week of practice before starting their regular season on October 9 at 8:00 p.m. at Crescent Point Place, where they will entertain the Regina Flames.

This year's roster includes: Terrick Wilderman, Billy Cuthbert, Kendall Oliver, Jacob Eger, Daniel Fellner, Lyndon Lumb, Brayden Leslie, Donovan Lumb, Brayden Ganson, Braden Rood, Lance Tendler, Kyle Crozier, Garrett Dempsey, Braden Mellon, Jack Carleton, Tucker Neuberger, Cole Sjostrand, Daniel Watson, and Kolten Cleasby. Coaching the team is Doug Lumb with Todd Neuberger, Laird Sjostrand, and Hamish Ganson assisting.
