For the first time in quite some time, the Senior Rebels have now lost three consecutive Notekeu League games following two close battles on the weekend.

On Friday, November 22 with the Coronach Merchants in town and determined to seek some revenge from their earlier visit, the visitors quickly opened a 3-0 lead in the first. The Rebels got a powerplay marker back before the period would end on a goal from Josh Bryant, assisted by Sean Whelan and Bryce Hall. The Rebels came out in the second and evened the match with goals from Braydon Delorme and Mitch Holick, but the Merchants got two back to make it 5-3 before heading into the third. The Rebels got a shorthanded tally from Holick and a game tying goal from Whelan with 2:15 to go, sending the match into overtime. No one scored in the five-minute overtime period. Therefore, this game went to a shootout, where the Coronach scored the only goal and took home the 6-5 final.

On Saturday night, the Rebels travelled to Hodgeville, down a few key cogs due to injury and other commitments. The Huskies opened with three goals in the first, before the Rebels started to battle back.

With Landon Marit and Holick both on the powerplays, from Zack Evans and Carson Cayer, the boys were able to get back in the match. A post kept the score from СÀ¶ÊÓƵ evened, but Hodgeville got a quick pair late in the period to maintain a 5-3 lead heading into the third. Again, the Rebels battled back on goals from C. Cayer and Bryce Hall and had some good opportunities to tie it, but the Huskies got one with five minutes to go then scored on an empty net to put this one to bed, sending the Senior Rebels home with a 7-4 loss.

The Notekeu has some great parity this year, so all games should be good ones. This week in their only match, the Senior Rebels travel to Coronach on Friday, November 29 to take on the Merchants and round out their November schedule.
