It didn't take long for the Battlefords North Stars to find their new man.
Less than two weeks after Ken Pearson tendered his resignation as head coach and general manager, the Stars hired Kevin Hasselberg as his replacement.
Hasselberg was one of the three finalists for the Bruins' job, along with Keith Cassidy and Troy Leslie.
His most recent job was as an assistant coach with the Port Alberni Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League.
Prior to that, he had spent a decade with the Olds Grizzlys of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, including six as head coach.
Hasselberg was also an assistant coach with Canada West at the 2010 World Junior A Challenge.

It has been a busy summer for the Kindersley Klippers, and that was compounded by the trade of stud defenceman Sean Flanagan to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for three players who chose not to report.
A few days after swapping forward Josh McKissock to the BCHL's Chilliwack Chiefs, the team traded forward Jarryd Ten Vaanholt and defenceman Justin Elliott, both acquired for Flanagan, to the Vernon Vipers for former Battlefords forward Dane Muench and defenceman Philip Patenaude.
