ASSINIBOIA - First of all, on behalf of the Assiniboia Curling Rink board, and all the curlers, young and old, we wish our followers a “very Merry Christmas and a great, prosperous 2023”.
Our leagues are in full swing and things are going well. It’s great to see the numbers, especially in the afternoons (Monday and Wednesday), and Thursday night. Anyone interested in joining us in the afternoon slot, just show up. We’ll get you on a team. This starts at 1:30 p.m.

Our Fun Open Spiel had to be postponed to January 20 and 21, 2023. There was simply too much happening in the first attempt. Any team format is acceptable. To enter, call Bill at 306-640-9655.
Our Annual Seniors Spiel (60 yrs and over) is scheduled to go January 6, 7, and 8, 2023. Again to enter, call Bill at 306-640-9655. Always room for one more squad.
The next “Drop In Tuesday” will be held on Tuesday, January 10th. If you would like to try a few rocks, just show up. Singles, couples, families. Come one, come all. Also for “doubles curling” to try. It runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
We are also hosting a Junior Clinic hosted by Kirk Muyres and Laura Walker, two well known Canadian curlers, on Tues. Jan. 17. It is for all interested curlers seven to 17 years. It is headed by Corr Grain and Assiniboia’s own, Matt Batty. To register, again call Bill at 306-640-9655.
We are in the process of organizing our Grade 2 to 4 curling instruction, led by Nicolle and Travis Eldstrom. Information will be circulated through the school, so if interested, watch for that.
In later January, we’ll be hosting PSSD Bantam school playoffs on Saturday, Jan. 28.
The Curling Rink will be closed from Dec. 23 to Jan. 1 for Christmas.
