Petro Bakken Wings continue to struggle

Weyburn battled Prairie Storm in Weyburn on November 23 and came out on the losing end of a 6-3 contest. The Wings weren't able to get the lead in the game and trailed 2-1 after the first period.

Weyburn battled Prairie Storm in Weyburn on November 23 and came out on the losing end of a 6-3 contest. The Wings weren't able to get the lead in the game and trailed 2-1 after the first period. Scoring in the first for Weyburn was Braden Rood assisted by Lyndon Lumb and Tucker Neuberger. The second period saw each team score one goal as Brayden Leslie scored unassisted. In the third period the Wings were out-scored 3-1, with the lone goal coming from Kyle Crozier assisted by Leslie and Kyle Mryglod. Billy Cuthbert took the loss in net.

Weyburn travelled to Whitewood on November 26 for a match with the Pipestone Jets. The Wings came out with a lot of fire and lit the lamp nine times while holding their opponents to only two. Scoring first period goals for Weyburn were Crozier assisted by Jack Carleton and Daniel Fellner, Lumb assisted by Kolten Cleasby and Dan Watson. Weyburn's third goal of the period was scored by Neuberger assisted by Cole Sjostrand and Lumb. The second period saw the Wings outscore their opponents 5-2. The Wings continued with relentless pressure and put the game out of reach early in the second period. Scoring for the Wings were Cleasby unassisted, followed by Neuberger with a natural hat trick. Sjostrand assisted on the Neuberger goals and Jacob Eger also received an assist. Whitewood added both of their goals in the second period. As the teams played out the third period, Weyburn added two more goals to wrap things up. Scoring for Weyburn were Cleasby from Carleton and Brayden Ganson with Lumb rounding out the scoring with assists going to Sjostrand and Neuberger. The Wings out shot their opponents 50-16. Terrick Wilderman picked up the win in net.

The boys travelled to Regina on November 27 for a rescheduled game with the Flames and came out with a loss of 4-0. The Wings battled hard but were unable to put together many quality scoring chances and came up short in their attempt to put up back-to- back wins. Cuthbert took the loss in net for the Wings while facing 54 shots. The Petro Bakken Wings battled the Notre Dame Hounds on November 30 at Crescent Point Place. Results were unavailable at press time.
