The Midget Petro Bakken Wings have completed a very busy week as of October 30 and remain undefeated through four games. The Wings began the week with a trip to Regina on Wednesday night to take on the Regina Capitals, the game was a close battle with the Wings coming out on top with a 5-4 decision. Regina scored early in the first period, but Weyburn quickly replied and ended the first period with a 3-2 lead. Scoring first period goals for Weyburn was Kyle Crozier with assists going to Tucker Neuberger and Braden Mellon, followed by a goal from Lyndon Lumb assisted by Donovan Lumb and Daniel Fellner, the third goal of the period was scored by Brayden Leslie with Kolton Cleasby assisting. In the second period the Wings hit the score board twice more on goals by Cole Sjostrand (unassisted) and Brayden Leslie set up by Kolton Cleasby and Kendall Oliver. The third period saw Regina battle back with two goals, but that was as close as they would come, giving the Wings a 5-4 victory. Billy Cuthbert and Terrick Wilderman split the contest in net, each allowing two goals, Wilderman picked up the victory.
On October 28 the Wings hosted the Notre Dame Hounds and were able to skate away with a 4-2 victory. The game was a great battle from start to finish as both teams showed up to compete. Notre Dame carried the play for most of the first period and forced Wings goaltender Terrick Wilderman to make some key saves early to keep the game scoreless. When the buzzer sounded to end the first period the teams were tied at one. Scoring Weyburns goal in the first was Kolton Cleasby , with assists going to Brayden Leslie and Cole Sjostrand. Again, in the second period, it was a tight battle with each team scoring one more goal, Braden Mellon had the unassisted marker for Weyburn.
Weyburn came out ready for action in the third period and were rewarded with a goal six minutes into the third, which would turn out to be the game winner. Tucker Neuberger scored on a nicely set up play from Donovan Lumb and Cole Sjostrand, Brayden Leslie put the game away with an empty net goal late in the game. Terrick Wilderman picked up a well deserved win in net.
On October 30 the Wings finished the week with a tilt versus the Melville Millionaires at Crescent Point Place. This game played out very similar to their game two nights earlier and once again were victorious with a final score of 4-2. The two teams played to a scoreless draw through 20 minutes of entertaining hockey that saw some good goaltending at both ends of the rink. In the second period Weyburn outscored Melville 3-1 as goals were scored by Braden Mellon, Kolton Cleasby, and Donovan Lumb picking up assists were Tucker Neuberger with two, Donovan Lumb, Cole Sjostrand, Brayden Leslie, Braden Mellon and Kyle Crozier. In the third period the Wings picked up their fourth goal nine minutes in to seal the win; Lyndon Lumb scored with assists going to Jack Carleton and Kyle Crozier. The Millioniares added their second goal with five minutes left but that would be as close as they could get. Billy Cuthbert had a strong game between the pipes to pick up the win.
