Weyburn's Midget AAA Wings completed their first round sweep of the Regina Wild on March 7th in Regina, with a convincing 11-2 win. The Wings opened the scoring on a goal from Jack Carleton with assists to Tucker Neuberger and Brayden Leslie and although Regina replied to tie it at one the Wings took the lead later in the period and never lost it. The Wings led after the first period by a score of 4-1. Finding the back of the net were Neuberger and Braden Mellon with two. Assisting in the period was Neuberger (1) and Donovan Lumb with three. The second period saw the two teams battle back and forth, but only one goal was scored and it was from the Wings via Kolten Cleasby with Kendall Oliver and Jacob Eger assisting.
With the Wings up 5-1 to start the third the Wild came out with a last gasp desperation and scored early in the period to cut the lead to 5-2, but that was as close as they would get as Weyburn responded by firing six more pucks past the Regina net minder to put an end to their season. Picking up goals in the third were Leslie, Mellon (2), D. Lumb, Neuberger, and Braden Rood. Assists for Weyburn in the period were L. Lumb, Rood (2), Neuberger, Eger, D. Lumb, and Mellon. Billy Cuthbert picked up the win in net for the Wings.
