The Sherritt Coal peewee AA Bruins began their best-of-three league playoff series versus the Moose Jaw Warriors on the weekend, with both teams emerging with a win after the first two games.

The Bruins took game one on the road 6-3.

The peewees had to forget most of the first period when they took some penalties that resulted in two goals by the Warriors. Moose Jaw scored again to take a three-goal lead in the first period.

The Bruins finally got on the scoreboard when Matt Bill knocked one in with 16 seconds left in the opening period.

That was all the Bruins needed.

They came out in the second frame and scored three unanswered goals. Preston Brodziak and Tyran Brown both scored power play markers, and Brayden Pachal scored before the end of the period to take a 4-3 lead into the third.

Colton Winton scored twice in the final period to lock up the first game for the Bruins.
Moose Jaw slept on that loss and came back to Estevan on Saturday opening with a familiar first period.

The Bruins dropped three goals again in the first period and this time they didn't get one back until the second when Winton got his team to within two at about the six minute mark.

Bill made it a 3-2 game early in the third but the Bruins couldn't complete the comeback.

The Warriors scored with six minutes remaining and then potted an empty net goal to make it 5-2.

Tyran Brown scored for the Bruins in the closing seconds, ending the game at 5-3.

Results of the third game that was played Monday night were unavailable at press time.
