The Moose Mountain Wild Pee Wee AA Hockey Team had a very successful season with an overall record of 46 wins, 3 ties and 10 losses. 6 of the losses were by one goal, meaning the Wild were only beat 4 times out of 59 games by more than one goal. Very impressive!
Coaching staff this year was Dan Davidson - Head Coach, Daron Johnston - Assistant Coach and Dean Sargent - Manager. The team this year consisted of the following players: Jayden Davis - Alameda; Josh Brown, Cale Fleury, Talen King, Jesse Moffatt, Mitchell Morrison, Kyle Sargent, Brady Third - Carlyle; Wyatt Bayliss - Carnduff; Dawson Davidson, Jackson Granrude, Austin Johnston, Drayson Skulmoski, Jace Woods - Moosomin; Scott Jones - Stoughton; Colby Holloway - Wapella.
During the season the team attended tournaments in Saskatoon, Yorkton, Portage, Regina and Brandon. The team finished 1st in Yorkton, 2nd in Portage and 3rd in Saskatoon. Regular season play saw the Wild finish first with a record of 23 wins and 1 loss. Finishing first after regular season play earned the Wild the Presidents Cup and a bye in the first round of play-offs. In round two of play-offs the Wild came up against the Swift Current Broncos and won that round two games straight with scores of 6 - 1 and 4 - 2. The next play-off round saw the Wild come up against the Yorkton Terriers in the league final. The Wild played two very strong games but suffered two overtime losses. Yorkton won game one in double overtime with a score of 5 - 4 and won game two in overtime with a score of 4 - 3 earning them the league title.
Provincial play saw the Wild with a bye in the first round then coming up against the Swift Current Broncos in round two. The Wild won that 2 game total point series 9 - 3. Next round the Wild found themselves up against the Melville Millionaires and won that series 17 - 4. The СÀ¶ÊÓƵ Final was the next round of provincial play where the Wild came up against the Regina Sabres. The Wild won game one in Carlyle with a score of 2 - 1. Game two in Regina was a hard fought battle with the Wild losing in triple overtime 3 - 1. Regina won the two game total point series 4 - 3.
The Wild had a successful year on and off the ice with a great group of players and parents. The team would like to extend a huge Thank You to their sponsors and all of the fans that supported them during the season!
