Weyburn's Garett Walbaum and Eric Evans were in Kindersley from August 11 to 15 to play as members of Team Saskatchewan in the Canada Cup Midget Baseball Tournament.
In the opening game they faced Team Manitoba winning 5 to 3.In game two they played Newfoundland, winning 10 to 2 and in game three Team Saskatchewan faced Prince Edward Island, losing 10 to 8 in three extra innings.Team Saskatchewan faced Team Alberta in game four, losing 6 to 2.
In the last round robin game in their pool, Team Saskatchewan played Nova Scotia, losing 5 to 3, finishing second in their pool. They faced Team Quebec from the other pool, losing 8 to 2.
In their final game, Saskatchewan played New Brunswick, losing 9 to 4, giving them a sixth place overall in the Canada Cup.Walbaum will head for Saskatoon this coming weekend to play for the Saskatoon Cubs in the Western Canadian Midget Baseball Championships.
