KIPLING - The Kipling U18 Royals are set to go to Round 3 in the U18 provincial C playoffs.
The Royals beat out the Rosetown Redwings 10-1 and 9-5 in the first round.
Game 1 of Round 2 saw the Royals travelling to Gull Lake to face the Greyhounds. Kipling led 3-1 after the first period on goals by Kegan Ksenych, Cyson Romanow and Dawson DeClercq. Gull Lake scored one each period of the game to tie, but Romanow scored the winning goal in the third with 43 seconds remaining on the clock.
Both teams were assessed penalties, Royals with five minors and the Greyhounds with seven.

Kipling Royals hosted Gull Lake Greyhounds in Game 2 on Feb. 26.
The first minute of the game had the Royals coaches and fans a bit nervous as the Gull Lake Greyhounds scored at the 45-second mark in the first period.
That woke up the Royals to bring on their best hockey moves.
The first period ended with Kipling leading by 3-1. Goals scored by Peyton Balon, Romanow and Johanson.
The game ended 3-1 with no goals scored in periods two and three.
Penalties were plenty in Game 2, with each team 小蓝视频 assessed six minor penalties.
“The players were pretty pumped about the win,” said assistant coach Clayton Romanow.
The Royals will go on to play Round 3 against the Carlyle Cougars.
Romanow gives coaches advice to the team regarding the next round of playoffs.
“Stay healthy and stay out of the penalty box.”
“We’re down a few players due to absences and injuries,” explains Romanow, who has been an assistant coach since 2019.
He explains the team’s play through the season thus far:
“They’re playing pretty good. We have a pretty strong team. They are playing well in the league. We had a couple of rough games and a couple of good games.”
Their league playoffs will also start soon. The Royals are in second place with an 18-3-1 record.
