Golf Kenosee hosts 14th annual 55+ golf tournament

Golf Kenosee was home to the 14th Annual 55+ Golf Tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 6. The tournament attracted more than 150 golfers. A full day of golf and beautiful weather was enjoyed by all.

The tournament attracted participants from throughout south eastern Saskatchewan and south western Manitoba. Golfers from Regina, Virden, Esterhazy, Estevan, Weyburn, Melville and Lafleche were in attendance, in addition to those from the local region.

The men's tournament champion was C.J. Gelowitz from Kenosee Lake, with Audrey Perra from Regina taking home the ladies champion title.

Other flight winners in the men's tournament included: Steve Kuzek, Barry Lawless, Rick Rohatyn, Garnie Currie, Doug Rintoul, Bruce McCarthy, Boyd Cochrane, Frank Faber, William Ikert, Steve Zaparaniuk, Dave Schnell, Bill Martin, Dennis Gustafson, Allan Toth, Ed Smith, Glen Pengally, John Salaway, Tom Link, Jim Carpenter and Leo Gravelle.

For the female's tournament, other flight winners included: Betty Ann Marcellus, Wendy Currie, Coleen Bennett, Betty Nordin, Chris Haussecker, Brenda Kerslake, Val Cawood, Kathy Schnell, Sylvia Brodziak, Audrey Griffin, Ida Scott, Clara Coffey, Karen Lischka and Elvira Tochor.

Following individual rounds, golfers received door prizes and special draw prizes. Golfers were also treated to a delicious roast beef supper served by Club 19.

Following the distribution of flight prizes, Roy Arndt was presented with an award honouring his Life Time Membership at Golf Kenosee. Arndt was awarded this honour as a result of his contributions to the golf course and for chairing the 55+ Golf Tournament since its origin.
