ESTEVAN - For the second time in eight days, a team from the Estevan Brewers program has won a Baseball Regina league title.
The host Estevan U13 AA Brewers defeated the Swift Current 57s 16-6 Monday afternoon at Mel Murray Cactus Park to win the championship.
Estevan led 2-0 after the first inning, and then added six runs in the second and five in the third to make it a 13-0 game.
The 57s scored all of their runs in the fourth inning, but Estevan would get three more before the end of the game.
A large crowd turned out to watch the game, with most of them rooting for the Brewers.
The Brewers went 19-1 in the regular season to finish with the best record in their league and 4-0 in the playoffs. They will now focus on the Baseball Sask. U13 AA Tier 1 provincial tournament, which is slated for July 21-23 in Prince Albert.
Last week, the Estevan U11 AA Brewers won the Baseball Regina championship for their division.
