ESTEVAN - For the second straight season, a playoff series between the Flin Flon Bombers and the Estevan Bruins is going the distance.
Flin Flon defeated Estevan 4-1 at Affinity Place Sunday night in Game 6 of their best-of-seven SJHL quarter-final series.
The series is now tied at 3-3. Game 7 will be played Tuesday night in Flin Flon. .
Mitch Kohner scored a power-play goal for Estevan midway through the first period.
Jeremi Tremblay scored for Flin Flon early in the second to tie the game.
Then the Bombers scored twice in 74 seconds midway through the frame. Alexi Sylvestre's goal gave the Bombers a 2-1 lead. Cole Duperreault - playing his first game of the series after returning from an injury - scored to put the Bombers up by two.
Lucas Fry scored into an empty net late in the third to finish the scoring.
Cam Hrdlicka made 42 saves for Estevan. Harmon Laser-Hume stopped 27 shots for the Bombers.
A large crowd of 1,952 fans attended the game at Affinity Place.
Last year the two teams met in the league final. Estevan won that series in seven games to capture their first SJHL championship since 1999.
